Aromatic, pure and delicate. This Pinot Noir has a lot to offer, all in perfect restraint. Cherry, raspberry and cranberry fruit are the centrepiece with some pleasant earthy undergrowth, dried herb, and an almost saline mineral finish. Although Spring Vale has been around since the 70s, Melrose was first released in 2008 when they purchased a neighbouring property to expand their range and offering with an early release entry-level Pinot Noir that is uncomplicated and delicious.
On Tasmania's eastern coast, Spring Vale vineyard was first established in 1986 when the Lyn family decided to plant Pinot Noir vines on their cattle farm, which had been in the family since 1875. Today, Spring Vale remains a small family-run operation with its founder, Rodney Lyne, at the heart of all operations while rearing 100 Angus Beef cattle. The picturesque coastal area of Freycinet boasts the greatest amount of sunlight each year and the lowest rainfall statistically each year. Warm days and cool nights are typical, ideal for ripening grapes slowly and enhancing their flavour profile.
