Kaesler ' Reach For The Sky' Shiraz
Save 10% on any 6 bottles of wine - mixed or straight
The Shiraz fruit is carefully selected from various parts of the Kaesler vineyard to create this generous and fruit-forward representation of Barossa Shiraz. The fruit is hand-picked and left on skins for 7 days before being pressed and sent to a tank to settle. It is then placed in French oak, 25% of which is new. The wine exhibits lifted aromas of blueberry and blackberry with hints of cocoa and spice. These flavours continue on the palate, accompanied by dried fruit and green herb notes, silky tannins, and a long finish. This richly flavoured and balanced wine is truly worth reaching for.
Kaesler has been a part of the Barossa Valley since its founding. First established in the 1840's and by the 1890's it had expanded to 90 acres, all planted with Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre, and some white Rhone varieties. Over the years, many vines have been replaced, but some of the original Shiraz plantings remain. The Kaesler family owned the winery until 1999 when Ed Peter and winemaker Reid Bosward took over. Their first priority was to regenerate the historic vines and plant new ones. Today, Kesler is known for making bold and compelling wines with intensity and complexity that are worthy of any Australian cellar.
