Gant & Co Chardonnay

A beautifully refined Chardonnay from this cool climate site in Margaret River, Claudia and Matt call it 'modern Margaret River', and it's easy to see why: perfectly restrained, bright acidity and careful oak use. It's barrel fermented and spends 9 months of lees, bringing a beautiful savouriness to the wine along with baked apple, grapefruit and fresh cream flavours.

The first Gant & Co wines were released in 2019 by Claudia and Matt Gant. They used fruit from Claudia's father's vineyard, which she inherited after his passing. The vineyard, planted in 1998, is located in Karridale, the southernmost sub-region of Margaret River. Claudia and Matt, both experienced winemakers, had worked on many vintages across Australia and abroad. They met while working in South Australia. Before moving to Margaret River and setting up Gant & Co, Matt established First Drop Wines in the Barossa. Claudia's father always used best practices when farming and caring for the Karridale vineyard, and they continue to do so today. The result is pure and honest expressions of the land.
