Bondar 'Violet Hour' Shiraz
Dark but very juicy and lifted fruit profile with flavours of blackberry, blueberry and black cherry, some hints of spice, black olive, bitter herbs and some earthy tones all come together in this beautifully balanced and light on its feet Shiraz. Old oak is used in the production of this wine, letting the true flavour of the fruit, vineyard, and season shine through.

Husband and wife team Selina Kelly (sales and marketing) and Andre Bondar (winemaker and vineyard manager) first started their label in 2013 and have steadily built upon it each year. They acquired the Rayner Vineyard, one of the best sites in McLaren Vale, set on a hillside between Blewitt Springs and Seaview sub-regions. The vines were planted in the 1950's to Grenache and Shiraz, some of the vines being untrellised bush vines. They aim to make pure, fine-boned, aromatic expressions of their site and variety. They certainly manage to do that and at a very resonable price tag.
