A Morris flagship wine, pioneered by Mick Morris in the 1950s, this Durif is a true icon of Australian wine and a speciality of the Rutherglen region.
The grapes were harvested and crushed into open fermenters, with heading down boards used to submerge the skins into the fermenting must for colour and tannin extraction. After 5 to 7 days, the must was pressed and placed into French and American oak hogsheads for maturation prior to bottling.
