Mulline Barrabool Syrah
Elegant and poised, this wine has flavours of blue and purple fruit, dried herbs, and violets with a silky texture. The fruit for this wine comes from the 1999-planted Barwon Ridge vineyard in Barrabool. There is a small sprinkling of Marsanne, just 2%, and the rest is Syrah, 25% of which is fermented as whole bunches and 25% vinified in new French oak. This wine is harmonious and ready to be enjoyed now.
“Mulline is really humming along. The wines are as good or better every year, it seems.
This is silken and svelte and intricate and more. It's a savoury wine but it's also the kind of wine that the crowd will love, thanks to its musk-like notes, its softness, its fineness and its finesse. Sweet red and black cherries, woodsy spices, woodsmoke and peppercorns. The overwhelming impression, other than ripeness, texture and control, is of craft. It feels meticulous. Sexy, but meticulous. It's a seriously beautiful wine.” Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front 95+ Points

Mulline's wines have garnered critical acclaim for their elegance, finesse, and purity of fruit. Their Chardonnay is often described as vibrant and mineral-driven, with delicate floral notes and a crisp acidity. The Pinot Noir, on the other hand, is typically rich and textured, with dark cherry and plum fruit flavors and subtle earthy undertones.
