Gerard Boulay 'Tradition' Sancerre

$79.00

The grapes for this wine are sourced from vines that are between 30 and 50 years old in the slopes of Chavignol. Sweet citrus notes, fresh white flowers, and ripe stone fruit aromas fill the glass. The wine's phenolic structure creates a mouth-watering sensation and is very moreish. You'll find flavours of wet stone minerality, ripe stone fruit, and a salty, saline character on the palate.

The vineyards surrounding the town of Chavignol are considered prime real estate for Sancerre, so it's no surprise that one of the top producers from the region's vineyards are located there. The Boulay family can trace their winemaking and growing history back to 1380. However, it's Gerard Boulay himself who has produced the wines that have become internationally recognised and stocked in all the best wine bars and bottle shops worldwide. You can expect the wines to present a little broader and fleshier than most Sancerres and definitely most Sauvignon Blancs.
