Rouleur Grenache
The fruit came from the Spring Hill vineyard in McLaren Vale and cold-freighted to headquarters in North Melbourne to be made, 85% of the fruit was destemmed, and the rest was left as whole bunches, but it was all fermented together. After 16 days, the wine was pressed to tank to continue fermenting and then racked to neutral oak for the final stages of fermentation and then maturing. The result is a bright and pure fruited Grenache with raspberry, cranberry and musk aromatics, fleshy red fruit flavours and some herbal notes too.

Matt grew up on a farm in the Yarra Valley surrounded by vineyards; his Dad, an airline pilot turned farmer, planted a vineyard on their family home in Coldstream, which set the path for Matt into a career in wine. His early career was in sales and marketing, but in 2015, he left his full-time position to pursue his personal goal of creating his own label and making wine from the family vineyard his Dad planted in 1984, and Rouleur was born. Since its inception, the label has grown, and it now produces wine sourced from various sites across the Yarra Valley and McLaren Vale, but the home base and tasting room is in North Melbourne. His wines capture the region, variety and vintage from which they come clearly and harness the fruit's natural acidity, freshness and flavour.
