Steffi Snook's curiosity and passion for wine and winemaking were originally sparked during a school trip to a local vineyard in Central Otago when she was in Year 9. Her career in the wine industry officially began working in hospitality in Melbourne, where she worked at Rockpool and Dinner by Heston. She also gained experience in distribution and took on several hands-on roles during vintage seasons in Australia and overseas.
Eventually, gaining a full-time position at Lethbridge Wines in Geelong, which was a pivotal point in her career progression so far. Today, she produces a small range of wines under her own label, 'Yayoi,' which translates to 'new life' and also refers to the month of March. Her favourite varieties to work with are Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, and she also creates a Pet-Nat with Vermentino from Chalmers Vineyard. As a passionate, hardworking, and driven young woman, she is definitely one to watch!
