Background

"Third-generation family members run Murdoch Hill in the beautiful Adelaide Hills region. Michael Downer head winemaker has a proud ethos of working as organically with the land as possible and with minimal intervention in the winery, wild yeast and gentle extraction. The range is split in two with their 'Estate' label and 'Artisan' label. 'Estate' is their base range of consistent and great value wines, and their 'Artisan' label experiments with alternate varieties and expresses regional flare. The family owns and runs two vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, one in Oakbank and one in Lenswood; they also purchase some fruit from other cool climate sites in the Adelaide Hills."

Tasting Note

"Fruit-driven with stacks of fragrance and flavour bursting from the glass. Passion fruit pulp, zesty lime, tropical fruits and a touch of red capsicum and white pepper. Persistent and balanced. Great for all sauvignon blanc drinkers, but this one might even challenge the haters."
