"So the vineyard we sourced our Meunier is perched on a gnarly slope, that even the most nimble of tractors struggle to climb. Planted in 1983, on the red soils of Silvan, this vineyard was established with a view to growing sparkling base. And 38 years later weÕre thrilled to be taking the fruit to craft delicious (still) wine in the Rouleur style.
Aptly named ÔStrawberry FieldsÕ this block of Pinot Meunier is nestled between rows of Strawberries - which makes visiting the vineyard a joy - particularly when thereÕs fresh strawberries ripe for the picking (and eating!)" - Winemakers note
Tasting Note
"The Pinot Meunier variety certainly doesnÕt like to settle! Hence the light haze over vivid color. But thereÕs fresh cut summer red berries, along with rosehip tea, pomegranite and fennel seed on the nose.
Those red fruits carry-on in the mouth, super plush with rosehip, watermelon, campari, hints of stalk and a dusting of ultra fine tannin too." - Winemakers note
