Adelina Watervale Riesling
"Adelina’s Watervale Riesling is a blend of two vineyards: blocks G10 and G11 from the Gullyview vineyard, planted in 2001 on red loamy clay over limestone; and (as of 2019) the Kloock vineyard, north of Watervale, with light brown loam over limestone. A bit of history… John Vickery sourced fruit from blocks at Gullyview for some of the legendary Leo Buring Rieslings of the 1970s. So, we’re talking about quality Clare real estate here."
"the fruit was destemmed and crushed before pressing, the free-run juice then settled, racked and fermented. The 2022 finished with a smidge of residual: 3.7 g/L to balance the prodigious acidity of 9.52 g/L. The result is classic Watervale—aromatic and seductive with scents of lemon peel, makrut lime and white flowers leading to an exuberant, pulpy palate driven by piercing acidity and citrus briskness." - Bibendum
