Amherst 'North South' Shiraz

Background

"2019 was a warm, dry year leading to small yields of excellent quality grapes. As a result the second release of the North-South Shiraz which is a blend of Dunn’s Paddock and 2 other Pyrenees vineyards. The fruit had lovely ripeness and acid balance and was wild yeast fermented over 2 weeks. It was then basket pressed and left to mature on French oak for 2 years."

Tasting Note

"The nose is of blackberry, plum and with notes of cedary oak. The dark fruit and spice flows onto the palate and the oak is well integrated with silky tannins. This shiraz will no doubt age gracefully for many years but the sweet fruit and fine tannin structure make it eminently approachable now." - Winemakers note
