Background
Mulline Vintners is a collaboration between Ben Mullen, a qualified viticulturist and winemaker, and Ben Hine, a lawyer and the business mind behind the project. Together, the two Bens set out to produce high-quality wines made with fruit grown throughout the surrounding Geelong region, Moorabool Valley, Surf Coast, and Bellerine Peninsula. They purchase fruit from like-minded growers and also have their own home vineyard and winery in Portarlington.
Tasting Note
Tart red fruit profile, like cherry and cranberry juice, hints of spice, and some leafy green notes also. All in all, this wine is bright, refreshing, and pure, designed to be released early and drank young. 10% of the grapes are left as whole bunches, and the rest are destemmed. It is all fermented in stainless steel before spending 10 months in oak (15% new oak).
